RACE WEEKEND AT BURNEY OCTOBER 26
Endurance Runners is sponsoring an endurance event just outside of Burney in the Lassen National Forest. The 12-hour and 24-hour endurance run/walk/crawl will feature a looped 5.3-mile course, providing a challenging and scenic environment for runners. Jenifer Risel, the event organizer said βThe course takes runners through the natural beauty of the forest, showcasing its lush greenery, and gorgeous fall colors, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes. Runners will experience a forest road and a section of the Great Shasta Rail Trail. It is a looped course that allows participants to gauge their progress.β Runners will appreciate the convenient, fully stocked aid station at the start/finish placed for rest, hydration, and fueling. Overall, it promises to be an exhilarating and demanding race amidst the stunning backdrop of Lassen National Forest.
There will also be a burro race. You must provide your own donkey and follow rules that are on the signup page. You and your burro can run the 5.3 mile loop as many times as you want in 12 or 24 hours. There will be water available and there is dry camping nearby. Do bring your own food for the donkey.
