GIVING TUESDAY IS NOVEMBER 30 6 am to 8 pm

Each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, millions of givers around the world participate in Giving Tuesday to celebrate and uplift grassroots generosity as a universally held value.  The local event is sponsored and coordinated by the Community Foundation of the North State (CFNS) (formerly known as Shasta Regional Community Foundation).  Local businesses and the CFNS committed over $70,000 in prizes and incentives that will enhance donations made at www.northstategives.org during the 14-hour event November 30th.

The GSRTA looks to this event each year to raise funds for operating costs – those mundane, but necessary costs such as insurance, accounting, office supplies, etc. that most grantors do not support.  This year, because the need is so great, funds will be used toward repairing the flood damage caused by Mud Creek and toward established the costs of rehabilitation of the Lake Britton Bridge.

Making gifts on line is an easy process:  go to the site, choose an organization, select a donation amount, go to shopping cart and enter payment details.  This year payments can be made with credit card, debit card, or bank account.  Arrangements for stock and IRA transfers can be made in advance by calling CFNS at 530 244 1219.  Step-by-step instructions for online giving can be found HERE.

Because that Tuesday is not always convenient for givers, “early giving” will be accepted starting November 16th at www.northstategives.org.  Also, Direct Support is a new feature available this year.  When on the North State Gives site, click on the blue “Support” button. The donor can request technical assistance through a ticket form and expect a response within 2 business days.  On November 30th between 6am-8pm, the Direct Support option will automatically switch to a LIVE chat feature.

Please send your questions regarding the giving process to askus@greatshastarailtrail.org.

And, as always, the GSRTA accepts donations at https://www.greatshastarailtrail.org/get-involved (credit card) or at P O Box 221, McCloud, CA 96057 (check payable to GSRTA).
